During our 2024 trip, FOYA donated six laptops to Maracha High School. While computer studies are part of the Ugandan curriculum, many students learn about computers without ever having the chance to use one. Our team stepped in to teach the basics: how computers function, how to use Word to type and store documents, and how to research information online. We were amazed at how quickly the students grasped these concepts – they just needed the opportunity to practice.

During our 2024 trip, our team took an afternoon to visit Miradua Falls. While there, a group of young women recognized Diane. The girls shared that when they were in primary school, Diane and her team had visited their class to distribute reusable pads, more than 10 years earlier. Thanks in part to this initiative, the girls were able to stay in school and, as of last summer, were finishing their final months in nursing school.
